Both work, and I do plenty of each. My Glenview studio is set up specifically for newborn and maternity work, with professional lighting, a warm room for bare-skin newborn poses, heirloom props and full access to my Client Closet. It’s about 20 minutes from Arlington Heights. In-home sessions use natural light and have their own quiet advantage: your own nursery, your own bed, no packing the car with a days-old baby. If you do come to the studio, I leave a buffer either side of your appointment so there’s never a rush getting in or out. If I come to you, all I need is a room with a decent window and somewhere warm to work.
When Should I Book a Newborn Session if I Live in Arlington Heights?
Book your newborn session during the second trimester, ideally between weeks 20 and 28 of pregnancy, even though the session itself happens in the first couple of weeks after your baby arrives. What Should I Expect During My Session?
Newborn sessions usually run about an hour and a half to two hours, unhurried, in a warm room with white noise playing. Your baby sets the pace: I’ll pause for feeds, soothing or a diaper change as many times as needed, and safety comes before any pose. That’s the whole reason the session is built with time to spare rather than a tight slot.

What Happens to My Images After the Session?
Your images become heirloom art rather than a folder of digital files you forget to print. I offer heirloom albums, custom frames, fine art books and museum-grade canvases and prints, and I’ll email you within 24 hours of your session to book your Reveal and Ordering appointment, which is set for one week after the session date.
