Where are maternity and baby photography sessions held?
Your maternity photography and baby sessions can be held in our private Glenview studio, in the comfort of your own home, or outdoors at beautiful Chicago-area locations. Each option offers unique benefits—our studio provides complete privacy and professional lighting, in-home sessions capture your family’s natural environment, and outdoor sessions showcase stunning natural backdrops. Where will my newborn photography session be?
Your newborn photography session can take place either in our fully-equipped Glenview studio or in your home. Our studio features everything needed for a comfortable newborn session—professional props, organic wraps, handcrafted headbands, beautiful backdrops, and a warm, cozy environment kept at the perfect temperature for your baby. In-home sessions allow us to capture your newborn in their natural environment with meaningful personal touches. Both options ensure your baby’s safety and comfort throughout the session. I want a studio newborn session but I’m not sure I’ll be ready to leave the house.
I completely understand—as a mother myself, I know firsthand how challenging those early days can be. Our studio is designed to be your sanctuary: super comfortable, completely private, and cozy. We provide everything you and your baby need, including complimentary snacks, drinks, water, and Lavazza coffee.
Many clients find the studio experience surprisingly relaxing because you don’t have to prepare or clean your home beforehand. I just had my baby and can’t imagine being in front of the camera.
This is such a common concern, and I completely understand. I know just how exhausted you’ll be—I’ve been there myself as a mother. That’s exactly why I’m going to make photographing with your baby as seamless and comfortable as possible. I’ll gently guide you into flattering, natural poses that highlight the beautiful connection between you and your newborn. You don’t need to know how to pose or what to do—I’ll direct everything. What should I wear for my photography session?
You have full access to our exclusive Client Closet for both your maternity session and your newborn session! Our closet features a curated collection of gorgeous gowns, dresses, and coordinating outfits for the entire family.
During our pre-session consultation, we’ll discuss wardrobe options, color palettes, and styling details to craft the perfect session around your family’s personality and vision. The environment, the feeling of the shoot, and your attire all contribute to creating beautiful, timeless portraiture. I provide extensive style guidance and recommendations—you’re never left to plan it alone! How long does a typical photography session last?
Session length varies by type to ensure we capture beautiful images without rushing. Newborn photography sessions typically last 1.5 to 2 hours, allowing plenty of time for feeding, soothing, and multiple setups. Maternity sessions, baby milestone sessions, and first birthday cake smash sessions are usually just over 1 hour. We work at your baby’s pace and never rush—your comfort and your child’s wellbeing are always our top priorities.
When will I see my photos after the session?
We pride ourselves on a fast turnaround! By the time you arrive home from your session, you’ll have an email from me with available times to schedule your Ordering and Reveal Session. Your professionally edited images will be ready to view within 72 hours of your session—much faster than most Chicago photographers. During your reveal session, you’ll see a beautiful personalized film created with your images, then we’ll review your portraits together so you can select your favorites. Appointment slots fill quickly, so choose the soonest date available!
Do you offer gift certificates for photography sessions?
Absolutely! Gift certificates make perfect presents for expecting mothers, new parents, or families celebrating milestones. We’ll carefully schedule your family photography session at a time when your children won’t be hungry for dinner or groggy from a nap.
